Five tickets bought in Virginia each win $50,000 in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Five Virginia ticket holders each won $50,000 following Wednesday evening’s Powerball drawing.

On Thursday, Dec. 18, Virginia Lottery officials announced that the winnings were purchased at the following five locations:

  • Food Lion, 4092 Lankford Highway in Exmore
  • Safeway, 3043 Nutley Street in Fairfax
  • Tiger Market and Bakery, 3903 Mt. Vernon Avenue in Alexandria
  • Fas Mart, 4690 Pouncey Tract Road in Glen Allen
  • Smoketown Shell, 15550 Neabsco Mills Road in Woodbridge

The five tickets each matched four of the first five winning numbers plus the Powerball number.

No ticket in Virginia or anywhere else matched all six numbers to win the jackpot and, as a result, the estimated jackpot for the Saturday, Dec. 20, drawing has risen to $1.5 billion, per Virginia Lottery officials…
