RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Richmond police are urging residents to secure their vehicles and remove valuables as holiday shopping creates opportunities for car break-ins.
“We’re buying gifts for family members and higher dollar items, and we don’t want to carry large quantities of packages inside, so we’re leaving them in our vehicles, which creates that crime of opportunity for people,” said Lt. Cindy Marlow of the Richmond Police Department.
Last week, nearly 60 vehicles were vandalized within two days in Richmond’s First Precinct. The damage included busted driver’s windows, ransacked cars and stolen items…
