Hopewell City Councilor Yolanda Wyche Stokes has died.
Stokes, a former Hopewell voter registrar who was in her first term as Ward 6 representative, died Dec. 24, according to an online obituary from James M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment in Petersburg. The cause of death was not given, but Stokes had been ill for much of the year.
