Chesterfield apartment fire traps people on balconies, displaces 40

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A large early-morning fire tore through a Chesterfield apartment building on Wooded Glen Court Thursday, trapping residents on balconies and in windows, injuring at least two people and leaving about 40 displaced, according to Chesterfield Fire EMS Chief Edward Senter.

Crews were called to the 6400 block of Wooded Glen Court just before 2 a.m. Thursday, January 8.

Engine 201 from the Chester Fire Station arrived at approximately 2:02 a.m. to find heavy fire spreading rapidly on the third floor of the building and beginning to push through the attic, according to Senter…
