64-year-old Richmond man hit, killed by dump truck while in crosswalk

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A 64-year-old Richmond man is dead after he was hit by a dump truck while in a crosswalk on Tuesday. He is the third pedestrian to be killed in the city in just a week and a half.

At about 1:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the intersection of W. Leigh and N. Harrison streets for a report of a pedestrian being hit by a privately-owned dump truck.

When they arrived, officers found the pedestrian, 64-year-old Donald Jaciuk of Richmond, down and unresponsive in the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died…
