‘Preventable:’ Seven pedestrian deaths since Dec. 19 prompt safety concerns

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Seven pedestrian deaths have occurred across the Richmond region since Christmas Eve, with five fatalities in Richmond alone, prompting safety concerns among residents and advocacy groups.

The Richmond deaths included one near VCU’s campus, where a 64-year-old man was struck by a dump truck while crossing at the intersection of West Leigh Street and North Harrison Street.
