Five big things are already shaping up for Richmond, Virginia, in 2026, according to Axios. Richmonders might be excited to find out what those five things are.
1. Coliseum redevelopment
This could be the year the city finally makes some progress on its year-long effort to redevelop the 9.4-acre area downtown that includes the long-shuttered Richmond Coliseum. City Council is expected to vote on the City Center ordinance this month.
2. CarMax Park
CarMax Park set to be one of Richmond’s largest event venues. The all-new baseball stadium opens April 7 and promises to be more than a home for the Richmond Flying Squirrels. It’ll also serve as an event venue, hosting up to 14,000 people.
