Mayor Danny Avula’s First Crisis
Mayor Danny Avula stepped into office on January 1, 2025—only to face a major water crisis just five days later. From January 6 through January 11, 2026, thousands of residents dealt with low pressure, boil advisories, and service disruptions that hit older neighborhoods especially hard. Schools and some businesses were closed. It was Avula’s first assignment as mayor, and it arrived before he even had time to settle into his new job.
