Warming centers opening across Central Virginia ahead of weekend winter storm

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Inclement weather shelters across the region are opening up their doors for anyone who needs to stay warm as snow and ice is expected to impact the entire state.

There is a Winter Storm Warning for the entire state of Virginia. Snow, sleet and freezing rain Saturday, Jan. 24 evening through early Monday morning (Jan. 26) with impacts lasting well into next week.

Richmond

Salvation Army Inclement Weather Shelter

  • Address: 1900 Chamberlayne Ave. Men’s entrance at the back, women’s at the side corridor
  • Hours: Opens at 5 p.m. daily, will not close Saturday through Monday, closing Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 8 a.m.
