ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — Right now, Virginia has a $2.7 billion surplus and a flush rainy day fund, but Virginia’s Democratic majority in the House of Delegates and Senate are proposing dozens of new and higher taxes, including one that would add a 4.3% tax on every Uber and Lyft ride.
Here in Northern Virginia, where rideshares do most of their business in the commonwealth, it would be even higher – a 6.2% on every ride.
