RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Richmond has a newly established Department of Transportation and its director is calling 2026 the “year of the pedestrian.”
While the department has been in the works for a while, and was included in Mayor Dr. Danny Avula’s last budget, it finally got underway after a spike in pedestrian crashes at the beginning of the year.
