On Friday February 6th, 2026 at approximately 11:00am, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 44 Ponderosa Lane, Alberta for an unresponsive person outside in the backyard.
Deputies arrived at the location and located a deceased adult female in the backyard of 44 Ponderosa Lane. The victim was identified as Doris Laverne Williams, 79, of Alberta. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time, but some injuries caused by dogs were observed.
The victim was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond for autopsy and the results are still pending…
