RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Virginia State Police confirmed a deadly crash closed multiple lanes and caused miles of backups Thursday morning.
VSP says just before 4:30 a.m. on March 26, they recieved reports about a three-vehicle crash involving two tractor-trailers and a Lexus SUV near the Doswell exit on Interstate 95 in Hanover.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that the Lexus SUV made a sudden and drastic maneuver into the center lane of northbound I-95. A tractor-trailer traveling behind the SUV attempted to avoid a collision by merging into the left lane. The SUV then struck the tractor-trailer, pushing it into a second tractor-trailer in the right lane,” VSP said in a release.
The SUV ran off the roadway to the left and drove into two trees.
The two tractor-trailers also hit each other, causing one to jackknife…
