VCU, other Virginia schools among potential victims of massive criminal cyberattack

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), as well as many other Virginia universities and school systems, may be among the victims of a massive cyberattack that threatens student and staff data worldwide.

In early May, criminal actors breached the database of Instructure. It’s the company behind Canvas, a platform used by schools throughout the world to manage assignments and track grades.
