Bloomington residents gathered at Ayala Park on Tuesday, Aug. 4, for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating new improvements designed to enhance accessibility, safety and comfort for children and families.
Funded by Board of Supervisors Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr., the improvements include a new inclusive swing set designed for children of all abilities, new rubber safety surfacing and a shade sail at the playground. Together, the upgrades support more inclusive play, improve safety and provide additional protection from the sun.
Eight new picnic shade structures were also installed over picnic tables and BBQ areas. The structures feature durable metal framing with wood accents, creating additional shaded gathering spaces and making picnicking and BBQ areas more comfortable throughout the year…
