A Redlands family’s anniversary trip ended tragically with a search at sea after Thomas Gigler, a 56-year-old father of three, went overboard from the Carnival Panorama while the ship was returning to California from Mexico.
Gigler was traveling with his wife, Michelle, and their three sons aboard the seven-night cruise. The couple was preparing to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary Sept. 23, according to published reports.
The ship was traveling from Puerto Vallarta toward Long Beach when Gigler was reported missing. Carnival crew members searched the vessel and reviewed security footage, which confirmed that he had gone overboard. The circumstances leading up to the incident have not been publicly established…
