Fiery crash involving medical transport van with exploding oxygen tanks injures two people

Friday night at 6:05 pm, the Corona Fire Department (CFD) raced to the scene of a harrowing traffic collision with fire on the Northbound I-15, just North of Magnolia Ave.

Upon arrival, CFD discovered a three-vehicle collision, with two of the vehicles engulfed in flames, firefighters said.

The situation intensified as explosions erupted from a medical van involved in the incident, which carried multiple oxygen tanks, according to firefighters. These explosions triggered the spread of the fire to the surrounding vegetation.

Brave firefighters immediately launched an aggressive attack on the flames. Amid the chaos, CFD prioritized the rescue and treatment of those involved. Two patients received prompt medical attention from CFD personnel and were subsequently transported for further care.
