Two high school students were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Riverside, as per a recent city press release. The incident occurred at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Cortez Street, directly across from Ramona High School, at around 8:13 a.m. on Friday.
Riverside Police Traffic Bureau officers responding to the scene found that a male driver of a Hyundai SUV, traveling eastbound on Magnolia Avenue, had collided with the students as they were crossing the street within a designated crosswalk. The victims, along with the driver, were transported to a local hospital to receive medical attention for their injuries.
The circumstances leading to the collision, including potential impairment from drugs or alcohol by the driver, have yet to be determined. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident.
