A motorist who lost control on rain-saturated Highway 74 in Homeland Monday overturned and got hung on a guide wire for a power pole, just missing the pole itself.
The crash was reported at 10:57 a.m. on the westbound 74 at Olson Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials said the car flipped while traveling at an undetermined speed, coming to rest against the guide wire. Transmission lines were initially reported down after the accident, but none were dislodged, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The motorist suffered unspecified minor injuries but was not hospitalized.
The highway remained open.
