A deputy from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department shot and killed an armed suspect in Norco and police are investigating the shooting Friday.
Deputies from the Norco Sheriff’s Station were called at 6:02 p.m. Thursday to the area of Hamner Avenue and Sixth Street regarding a suspect armed with a knife. When they arrived, the deputies encountered the suspect and told them to drop the knife, said Sgt. Deirdre Vickers.
The suspect ignored the deputies’ commands and advanced toward them with the knife, and a deputy shot the suspect.
