Fatal Collision Claims Bicyclist’s Life in Perris Intersection Tragedy

PERRIS- On February 9, 2024, tragedy struck at the intersection of A Street and Redding Way in Perris, as authorities responded to a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. The incident, reported at 2:54 p.m., prompted a swift response from deputies of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Upon arrival, responders found the bicyclist, who had sustained severe injuries, lying unresponsive on the roadway. Despite efforts by both deputies and medical personnel to save the individual, the bicyclist tragically succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained present and cooperated with authorities throughout the investigation.

Tasked with unraveling the details of the incident, the Perris Sheriff’s Station Reconstruction Team took charge of the investigation. Preliminary findings indicated that the collision occurred as the vehicle attempted a left turn from Redding Way onto A Street, while the bicyclist allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign, leading to the collision.
