It has been reported that two children were swept away at Mill Creek near Thurman Flats on May 7, 2024. According to San Bernardino County Fire officials, fire units were dispatched at 3:43 p.m. to a reported swift water rescue near Thurman Flats Picnic Area near the community of Mountain Home Village.
