Women 4 Hope charity tourney raises money

The 20th anniversary Women 4 Hope Charity Golf Tournament was Sept. 23 on the executive course. Residents Carol Newkirk and Beverly Rashidd started the tournament in 2004 to help a women’s shelter in Banning. Over the years, it has grown, and now, three charities benefit from the annual event’s proceeds: the Banning High School Broncos girls’ golf team, the San Jacinto College Lady Eagles golf team and Michele’s Place, a center for cancer survivors in Temecula. Each received one-third last year, collecting $4,000 each.
