Los Angeles, Southern California to See Cooler Temperatures as Week Progresses

LOS ANGELES – A gradual cooling trend is expected to hit the Los Angeles region through the rest of the week, bringing relief from the recent heat wave. According to the National Weather Service, inland areas will see temperatures drop slightly, though they will remain 4-8 degrees above normal through Friday. Coastal areas will experience near-normal or slightly below-normal temperatures, with dense morning fog expected.

The cooling is due to a weak upper-level trough along the California coast, which will be replaced by a weak ridge on Wednesday. Inland areas may warm up by just a degree or two later in the week. By Saturday, a more noticeable cool down is anticipated, with most areas returning to below-normal temperatures by Sunday. Coastal low clouds and fog will persist, especially in the mornings.
