A car-to-car shooting Thursday night led to a high-speed chase on two freeways, with suspects firing at police as they sped at over 100 mph.
The pursuit ended in Rancho Cucamonga, where two suspects were arrested after a dramatic freeway exit.
Undercover San Bernardino police officers witnessed the initial car-to-car shooting near 14th Street and Magnolia Avenue. During the exchange of gunfire, one of the suspects’ rounds struck an unmarked police vehicle, according to a news release from the San Bernardino Police Department.
Officers chased the suspects onto the 215 and 210 freeways, where the suspects discharged multiple rounds at marked police vehicles. The chase, which reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, ended when the suspects exited at Archibald Avenue, where they were taken into custody.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
The San Bernardino Police Department is investigating the shooting within the city, while the California Highway Patrol is handling the freeway shooting.
