Southern California is bracing for cooler weather as an upper-level trough moves through the region today and Saturday. Scattered showers, mainly north of Point Conception, will linger through tonight, with only light rainfall expected. A slight chance of thunderstorms persists in the same area this morning.
Gusty west-to-northwest winds are a major concern, particularly in the Santa Ynez Range, the Los Angeles and Ventura coastal plains, and the Antelope Valley, where gusts may reach 35 MPH. Wind Advisories remain in effect, with some uncertainty about advisory-level winds along the Central Coast.
Looking ahead, a warming trend will begin Sunday, culminating in strong Santa Ana winds by midweek. Cooler conditions are expected to return late next week.
