Mother’s Tacos, a Northern California-based taco shop inspired by all mothers and one dreamy trip to Mexico City, is getting ready to open a new location in Ventura at 1177 E. Thompson Blvd—Suite 101.
The company’s second location is set to open near the heart of Downtown Ventura, according to Eater Los Angeles. This marks the first time Mother’s Tacos will establish itself in Southern California, and it seems they are preparing for an opening sooner rather than later. The restaurant is seeking candidates for all positions at the new location, which is expected to open in mid-April 2025.
This venture is a significant achievement for founders Charles Whittaker and Benedict “Ben” Koenig, who launched the concept in 2023. They have brought on Gabe Garcia, who has experience from Tierra Sur at Herzog Cellars and Highly Likely, to serve as the executive chef and general manager.
