Nuevo Resident Sergio Peralta Arrested in Perris Hit-and-Run Case

A hit-and-run incident in Perris that left a man with significant injuries has progressed with an arrest, according to information released by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The collision, which occurred on the evening of March 15, prompted a response from deputies who discovered the male victim on North Perris Boulevard. He was subsequently hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

The ongoing investigation led Sheriff’s deputies to identify the suspect vehicle as a 2020 Ford Edge, and, days later, authorities located and arrested 58-year-old Nuevo resident Sergio Peralta. On March 20, Peralta was found near Nuevo Road and Dunlap Drive in Perris. He was taken into custody without incident and now faces a charge for hit-and-run resulting in injury, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
