One Dead, Four Rescued After SUV Crashes Into Tree and Catches Fire in Fontana

FONTANA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — One person was killed and four others were rescued after a fiery crash early Monday morning, May 19, 2025, in the city of Fontana.

The collision was reported at about 2:25 a.m. in the area of Arrow Boulevard and Sierra Avenue. According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, a compact SUV crashed into a tree in the center median and caught fire.

Firefighters from Station 71 arrived to find the vehicle with major front-end damage and flames coming from the engine compartment. Crews quickly knocked down the fire and used extrication tools to rescue the four surviving occupants who were trapped inside. The extrication was completed in approximately 12 minutes.

Despite efforts to save everyone inside, one person was pronounced deceased at the scene…
