Special Olympics SoCal torch run kicks off in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The 2025 Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise money for Special Olympics Southern California kicks off Tuesday in San Diego, marking the start of a more than week-long trip across several Southern California counties, ending in Long Beach to open the summer games.

Hundreds of officers from local, county, state, federal and military agencies will carry the Flame of Hope starting Tuesday morning through San Diego, Mission Bay, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, and Carmel Valley north to Carlsbad, Oceanside and Camp Pendleton by late Wednesday morning.

The torch then heads through several Orange County cities, and across the Inland Empire, before ending on June 6 at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach to kick off the 2025 Special Olympics Southern California Summer Games that runs from June 6-8, 2025…
