Hiker plummets 30 feet at popular Southern California rock climbing area

A dramatic rescue took place after a hiker fell while visiting a popular Southern California rock climbing destination over the weekend.

Ground and air resources were sent to a rugged and remote section of the Stoney Point climbing area shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department posted on Facebook.

Images shared by the Fire Department showed a flight paramedic descending from a rescue helicopter to hoist the hiker who had fallen about 30 feet from the area located east of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and south of the 118 Freeway…
