Oregon Man Charged With Transporting Massive Load Of Meth From California In Rental Truck

An Oregon man is facing federal charges for allegedly transporting 270 pounds of methamphetamine from Southern California to Oregon, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon said Wednesday.

During the course of an investigation into suspected drug trafficker Anthony Barrera, 29, investigators learned he rented a vehicle and traveled to California, where he was allegedly picking u pa large quantity of drugs for transport back to Oregon.

On May 24, officers located the rental vehicle, driven by Barrera, traveling northbound on Interstate 5, and followed him to a rest area near Roseburg, Ore. Barrera was arrested without incident, and agents executed a search warrant on the rental vehicle, which revealed 270 pounds of methamphetamine and two pounds of cocaine concealed in the backseat and cargo area…
