An air quality alert published by the NWS warned that the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) had issued a warning due to harmful levels of particle pollution from windblown dust in the Coachella Valley.

Cities affected by the alert included Indio, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert, La Quinta and Coachella.
