Hearts melted for 16-year-old blind Boxer who lived with now homeless owner her entire life

At the City of San Bernardino Animal Services, a 16-year-old Boxer arrived on June 17. Her name is Samantha. The dog had lived with her unhoused guardian for her entire life, but unfortunately she was impounded at San Bernardino City Shelter when he was arrested.

When examined by the shelter staff, Samantha was diagnosed as thin with possible masses over her body. Her eyes had been enucleated. She walked with a slight arch and a stiff gait; likely arthritis as a result of her age. She would need special care and could only be rescued by an approved rescue organization…
