A deadly altercation at a business in the unincorporated area of Corona known as Glen Ivy has resulted in the death of a local man. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to reports of a physical fight at a premise on Pulsar Court early Sunday morning. Rene Nieves, a 40-year-old resident of Corona, was found unresponsive at the scene and later pronounced dead despite the efforts of an off-duty paramedic and firefighter.
During the initial stages of the inquiry, another individual involved in the incident was swiftly located and transported to the station to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation. After participating in questioning, the individual was released. The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit is to actively continue looking into the case, which will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review at a later date.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has assured the public that there is no threat and they do not believe additional suspects are involved at this time. However, the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Nieves is still considered active, and as such, no further details will be disclosed for now…
