Loma Linda Man Arrested, Suspected of Making Threats and Possessing Explosives

A Loma Linda man is behind bars after a heated argument escalated into threats of gun violence, leading to the discovery of a cache of weapons and explosive materials in his home. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Central Station responded to a call on the morning of Saturday, where it is alleged that Shane Shaffi, 35, threatened to shoot someone during a confrontation. The incident took place on the 25300 block of Cole Street, stated the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department’s report.

Upon detainment, officials confirmed through a records check that Shaffi had multiple firearms registered to his name. A subsequent search warrant led to the seizure of several firearms, ammunition, and high-capacity magazines, along with approximately 1.5 pounds of Tannerite – an explosive substance commonly used in target practice, as reported by KTLA. The Sheriff’s Department’s Arson and Bomb Division took possession of the explosive material, further tightening the net of evidence around Shaffi.

Deputy Robert Beler detailed that Shaffi has been booked into the Central Detention Center under suspicion of making criminal threats and possession of materials with the intent to manufacture an explosive. These allegations could lead to serious legal consequences if Shaffi is found guilty of the accusations leveled against him…
