San Bernardino County officials broke ground on the Glen Helen Parkway Bridge project, a $52.15 million project that will complete the infamous “bridge to nowhere”, over Cajon Wash. This project will construct a four-lane bridge that will help ease traffic congestion, enhance emergency response, and make travel to and from Glen Helen Regional Park much more convenient.
Construction of the Glen Helen Parkway bridge is made possible through the Federal Highway Bridge Program, Measure I funding, and the County’s Local Match. “The completion of this bridge will help bring peace of mind to residents in the surrounding areas by improving safety and accessibility,” said Chair Dawn Rowe of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. “It’s a strong example of how Measure I directly benefits our communities and shapes the future through local investment.”
The bridge serves as a vital connection to Glen Helen Regional Park and nearby communities like Rosena Ranch, Verdemont, and Devore, making its completion a major milestone in advancing the County’s long-term vision to improve regional access, safety, and infrastructure. “This project is part of a larger effort to invest in Glen Helen and ensure that our residents see real, lasting improvements,” said Vice Chair, Joe Baca, Jr. “Whether it’s through better roads, upgraded park amenities, or increased access to community events, these initiatives are about creating a better quality of life for our residents and building a stronger future for San Bernardino County.”…
