LA exploring waiving impound fees for cars belonging to detained immigrants

The city of Los Angeles Wednesday took another step toward waiving towing and impound fees for cars that belong to people detained by federal agents amid ongoing immigration enforcement in Southern California.

After the LA city council unanimously approved the plan, the Los Angeles Police Department and Department of Transportation will be directed to submit their recommendations within 15 days while the city drafts an initiative on how to retrieve impounded cars at no cost.
