Southern California Weather Outlook: Showers, Lightning Possible Through Wednesday

Los Angeles, CA – Southern California residents should prepare for scattered showers and possible thunderstorms beginning today and continuing through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles/Oxnard office.

NWS meteorologists said the best chances for thunderstorms will occur from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon, with the highest risk over San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. Los Angeles County could also see periods of rain and possible lightning.

According to the NWS, rainfall totals are expected to remain light, generally between 0.1 and 0.5 inches. However, isolated downpours could bring up to 0.25 inches per hour, particularly in areas hit by thunderstorms.
