Riverside County Supervisors Approve Review of Sheriff’s Department Fees

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved a plan allowing the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to move forward with revising fees for a wide variety of services. The review will cover everything from background checks and subpoena deliveries to coroner’s operations and even fortune-telling licenses. County officials say some fees may increase while others could decrease, depending on the service.Among the items under review are concealed firearm permits, background checks required for schools and county jobs, secondhand dealer licenses, and private party autopsies. The goal, according to the county, is to ensure that fees reflect the actual cost of providing these services. The Sheriff’s Office is expected to return with a draft ordinance in the coming months. Before any changes can take effect, the Board of Supervisors will hold two public hearings to review the proposed fee structure.Explore: NBCPalmSprings.com, where we are connecting the…..
