Donkey in roadway causes motorcycle crash in Redlands; two others arrested in separate incidents

REDLANDS, Calif. — A 34-year-old man was arrested Oct. 22 on suspicion of child endangerment and assaulting a law enforcement officer after allegedly challenging a student to a fight outside Barbara Phelps County High School on West Park Avenue.

Police said the suspect, who was charging his phone outside the school’s closed campus gates, argued with a 16-year-old student and then challenged him to fight. The student was injured during the altercation, and the suspect fled before officers arrived.

When officers later located him nearby, police said he resisted arrest, injuring one officer before being detained.
