On October 27, 2025, Angelo Jose Saldivar, 47, of San Bernardino, was involved in a reported domestic violence incident in Rancho Cucamonga. San Bernardino County Sheriff Deputy Andrew Nunez responded to the scene and was fatally shot. Authorities state that Saldivar then fled on a motorcycle, leading police on a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended after an off-duty deputy intervened.
On November 3, 2025, District Attorney Jason Anderson announced that Saldivar faces several charges.
