Starting tomorrow, Marines based at Camp Pendleton will kick off Exercise Steel Knight, a large-scale training drill stretching across Southern California and Arizona. Over the course of roughly two weeks, air and ground forces will run through complex scenarios designed to sharpen their command-and-control, as well as amphibious and expeditionary skills. North County residents can expect increased aircraft activity overhead and additional military traffic on the ground as operations intensify.
