Temperatures plunged across California in the days following Thanksgiving – with the Bay Area breaking a 103-year-old record as temperatures plunged across California.

High pressure to the west and lower pressure to the east has caused Central Valley fog to spill into Bay Area counties. Bay Area meteorologist Roger Gass told SFGATE: “It’s called a Tule fog, but that’s just a local reference to the phenomena that sets up in general, usually in the early winter.”

It meant persistent fog kept San Francisco abnormally cold Sunday, breaking a 103-year-old record as the city reached a temperature of only 50 degrees comapred to 51-degree on Nov. 30 set in 1922…
