A 38-year-old Redlands man was arrested Friday night after police say he assaulted his girlfriend and set their home on fire, killing multiple pets inside the residence.
The fire broke out around 8 p.m. in the 800 block of Occidental Drive, where firefighters arrived to find a well-established blaze at the front of a single-story home, according to the Redlands Police Department and fire officials.
