The last Monday of the year is one that will feature incredibly strong winds, and a Wind Advisory is in effect for most of Southern California.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory early Monday morning stating winds from the north to northeast will consistently hover around 25 to 35 miles per hour across the Southland. Gusts could reach up to 50 miles per hour in many areas, according to the forecast.
Mountainous parts of the region, including the Santa Susana Mountains, the Interstate 5 and Highway 14 corridors and the western parts of the San Gabriel and Santa Monica mountains may even experience “damaging” 55- to 75-mile-per-hour winds, NWS indicated, with isolated gusts up to 85 miles per hour.
