A suspected narcotics trafficker died after being shot by Fontana police Wednesday afternoon in an incident in which he allegedly rammed multiple vehicles with his own, authorities said.
The confrontation occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. in a parking lot in the 17100 block of West Foothill Boulevard, between Palmetto and Sierra avenues, according to the Fontana Police Department. Officers attempted to a detain a man wanted in connection with the sale and trafficking of “a large quantity of narcotics,” primarily fentanyl, the department said in a statement.
“During the attempted arrest, the suspect used his vehicle to ram multiple police vehicles and a civilian bystander vehicle,” the news release said. “An officer-involved shooting subsequently occurred.”…
