Suspected Fentanyl Trafficker Fatally Shot by Police in San Bernardino County During Arrest Attempt

A man suspected of narcotics trafficking, with a particular emphasis on fentanyl, was shot and killed by police officers in San Bernardino County, according to KTLA. The shooting took place on Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of a strip mall situated in the 17100 block of Foothill Boulevard. Authorities detailed the events leading up to the fatality, noting that the encounter turned deadly after the suspect rammed his vehicle into multiple police cars and a civilian’s car during the attempted arrest.

As originally reported by ABC7, the confrontation sparked shortly after 1:30 p.m. between Palmetto and Sierra avenues. Attempting an arrest of the man, who was wanted for the sale and trafficking of narcotics, the situation escalated when the suspect employed his vehicle as a battering ram against police vehicles attempting to apprehend him.
