Bodies of two other hikers found after fall at Mount Baldy identified

Two hikers whose remains were discovered on a treacherous Californian peak last month were identified over the weekend, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department officials said.

Juan Sarat Lopez, 37, and Bayron Pedro Ramos Garcia, 36, were identified as the two other men who fell from Mount Baldy — the highest peak of the San Gabriel Mountains, standing at more than 10,000 feet — on Dec. 29.

Crews found the pair during a search for Marcus Alexander Muench Casanova, 19, a Santa Clara University freshman who fell more than 500 feet near the steep trail, officials said. A friend who was hiking with Muench Casanova scrambled to an area with cell service to call for help, officials said…
