A 30-year-old Ventura County man was sentenced to 54 years to life in state prison in connection with a violent 2015 crime spree that included murder, officials announced.
On the night of April 30, 2015, Arron Jabezz Holmes, 19 years old at the time, went on a violent rampage in Oxnard that escalated throughout the evening, prosecutors with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
Holmes, along with two other adults and two minors, shot one victim he’d identified as an enemy in the foot while the person was attempting to flee on a bicycle. Not long after that, he and one of the minors robbed a group of teens practicing a dance routine in a local parking lot.
